A note about fishing: We love to catch and eat fish. We are more than happy to spend time fishing for supper and if we catch a few more we can arrange to ship them home for you. However we are not geared toward the hard-core fisherman who wants to fill boxes full of filets to take home. We strive to provide our guests with a variety of experiences so if you would like to cruise with us and also do some more intensive fishing we can put you in touch with guides that can provide this service.

| Fly fish for salmon on wilderness rivers. | We can hike to an alpine lake to fish for cut-throat trout. |
Halibut are plentiful in our waters and are available all season long. You can fish for these big flatfish right off the 'Heron' and often have the added bonus of being able to watch whales in the area while fishing.
Early in the season is the best time for King Salmon. We usually troll for these largest of all salmon either from the 'Heron' or one of our outboard skiffs. Though May and June are the best times for Kings there are some around all season. Silver (Coho) salmon start to get more plentiful in mid-July in salt water, later in August they start to head up the streams. Late August and early September is a good time fish for them with fly rods or spinning gear. Here is a link to a chart from the Alaska Dept. of Fish & Game showing fish run timing.
We carry two outboard skiffs to take you up the rivers. One of them has a jet drive which is an excellent way to get to some hard to reach fishing spots. The kayaks are a fun way to get to some fishing holes or they can be good entertainment for other members of your party who are not interested in fishing.
